Depend on the city, some historical centers are utterly destroyed but so are the seismic-proof, new buildings. It seems that in some parts the older houses did do better than the new ones thou. Which really is no suprise since the area is vey proe to earthquakes and has seen a few.

But the magnitude is terrifying!
