Is Bones mocking SPN?

I just loved the ep but danged, either SPN is so generic that everything looks like it or the creators of Bones are having a good laugh at show. (Little?) brother thinking he's the devil and (big?) brother killing him off? Gabe (sic!) and Neil (champion), I wanna know if there's something behind those choices? This is the show that has Booth's little brother carrying the name Jared. Does somebody know someone?

Yes, I am a conspiration theorists, why do you folks think I adore this show?

Or - help! That crazy ass place was contagious and I'm doomed to see things that aren't there from now on?

And damned, Bones has actual writers working for them!

Oh Sweets, I love you and I find Cam so wonderfully human and hotass that I think I wanna marry her! And I do love the aspects of 'different' creeds and scientific thought played with constantly. Show is just stellar right now. ♥

Uh, eh - should I put these under a tag? I don't think I have many Bones fans on my flist? Do I?

I watched it. Sorry to be behind. I would not have made a SPN connection had you not mentioned it here. I think the show has an ongoing theme of Catholicism as part of pointing out the differences between B & B and their ability to swoon over each other despite those differences. In this one, I right away predicted the family killed him but I thought the mom was involved and that they did it so they could sue the hospital because they were tired to paying. The whole "medicating with heroin helped him" crap was just, well, crap. Yeah, if the nurse cared so much, why'd the guy have gangreen toes? Ew.

Mostly, I wondered how much Toyota had payed them for product placement and if she was driving one of those hybrids that has just been recalled. I found that bit funny.

I really don't think there's a connection, just seems that the Apocalypse and with that the Devil is very in right now.

I love the aspet of differencies managing to co-operate on the show. There's no anvils being thown around on who's right or wrong, lesser or better. I find it to be very mature in that regard. A little heavy.handed at times, but this is TV after all.

Yeah, the heroin was crap, as was a man traipsing around with gangrened toes. But after having watched the dread of SPN for a long time, things just slip me by because trust me, it could be much worse. At least these characters ring mostly true.

Dang, product placement always slips by me. At least if cas are in question. I barely recognize my own, *g*

Ha, I knew I wasn't only one! It did amuse me to see the parallels. And wouldn't it be hilarious if all the SPN angels suddenly lost their powers and ended up in the looney bin because they weren't as well-adjusted to humanity as Cas? Kripke could take some lessons from them, *that's* how you do epic romance.

I know. I laugh, then go write since I have better things to do than get pissy about it. All my fic is AU; it's basically what I wanted to see happen in the show. Most are pretty out there, I have odd tastes. :) My current pet project is a wonderful fusion of SPN and the game Brutal Legend (which I've gotten pretty obssessed with); it's really a perfect combination, more than awesome enough to drown out all the suck of Kripke's efforts.
