Bones is back!
And no lingering on the possible shark jumper of a brain tumor! Yay!
Cyndi Lauper as a psychic, double squee!
So the romance is established, albeit with an interesting twist and I hope this one is treated better than a certain one that wrecked and entire show.
I'm getting more and more sweet on Sweets. He's just right in his role as the doubting psychologist. There really never are any straight answer in that trade. So the neurological explanation was a little off, he was talking about the brain's reactions to falling in love, not loving, but that's really besides the point. Loving is still a mystery, all we know is it has its roots in the materia grigia. Something needs to stay a mystery in life.
The writing over all is brilliant, the acting is brilliant, I love this show. I adore every character, and I can buy the cases. The ending to this in particular was very believable. I believe tis season will be as stellar as the earlier ones.
There's no one that's really taken over my heart (Sweets, stay back!) like it did in CSI and SPN and maybe it's better that way? I'm not too invested in one single character. Maybe that's really the way to go? I feel no need to ship anyone (except Cam and Brennan, but a smidgen only); I will be happy with whatever show gives me.
I feel tempted to make animated icons - I mean, the socks! But this is a fandom I won't ever go near, nor will I ever jinx anything with creations of my own. Hey, magical thinking is
Looks sternly at JPad and Eads: you two had me fall head over heals and now my heart bleeds for your caracters' treatment on your shows. Bad, bad boys!
The CSI promo looks promising, I feel some kind of hope that Nick will actually be on the show this season, returning. Of course, I may be bitterly deluded by the fifth eppie. I just hope the romance will never be brought up textually. it's done with , move on folks! A little Nick and no cringe worthy romance, that's all I am asking.
I watched the Space promo for SPN and it struck me how alike Dean and Cas are. They talk a lot without actually saying anything. And man, do they come off as self-righteous the pair of them? I'm guessing Kripke's fanservice will he plenty of sexual undertones between them this season because by the looks of it, Dean is really romancing himself in a mirror named Castiel. What am I saying? Guessing? I am convinced because Kripke is pwned and very WYSIWYG. Skipping this one too, I feel like I am watching the Cas/Dean talk show from that clip. Sam's the only one with any action. And judging by the actions, he will get teared a new one by fandom, yet again. I wish I hadn't stumbled on that clip. It gave me the exact feeling of the promos with the GSR: plucked in there only to appease the loud part of the fandom and had the producers forced to personality transplant Griss. This may end in me not even being able to re-watch S1 and 2.

I think the point you made about no single character taking over your heart is an excellent point, because for me, the show depends on the entire cast, and everyone has such excellent chemistry on screen together, that they all excel. :) And having such a terrific and balanced overall cast is way more entertaining to watch than a show with one or two awesome characters mixed in with a bunch of mediocre junk.
As for the brain thing from Sweets, I don't think it was his intention to prove anything to Booth, but more to make him think about things, and to give him the same warning that Cam did. I think the brain scans came in to play, because that's probably what Bones would see, and she showed that to be the case later on in the episode, and Sweets wanted Booth to consider that aspect of things as well.

Yes, you're far better off when you enjoy the entire cast. Then again, good writers are capable of making you enjoy the cast simply by not pushing cheap melodramatic points or milk for sympathy. Which many writers seem to resort to at some point. And if they tart milking for sympathy, then my reaction is always the exact opposite. *g*
After that opening, I have full trust in the writers capacity to balance the story.
